Lavinia Lockhart was born in 1872 in Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of a railroad owner John Lockhart. Her family was wealthy and moved in high society, though Lavinia was often looked down upon for coming from "New Money". With the advancement of the railroad and the trade it brought through Yorkshire, it also brought on bouts of cholera. Lavinia's mother, Anne died of the disease in 1889 and as a result, her father sent Lavinia away to a boarding school for girls.
She would never see her father again, as it was during her time at Girton College in Cambridge that she would meet her Sire. Lucien was his name, and he toyed with Lavinia like a cat batting at a mouse. For several months he stalked her, alienated her, and caused her to have hallucinations. She was admitted to a Medical Ward in 1893 for the treatment of hysteria. At the hospital, while buckled to her cot, Lucien raped and turned Lavinia into a vampire against her will. Her father was written and informed that she was dead, and thus Lavinia was thrust into her new life as a vampire, her only companion was the sire that turned her.
Little is known about her first decade as a creature of the night, but there are some pages in a diary of an American hunter during the early days of the 20th century. They mention a vampire named Lina and the hunters obsession with her dark and lustful power. He writes further about catching the beast at last, and his torture of her while in his captivity. He was found dead and drained of blood in 1911. In modern days the vampire Lina, formerly known as Lavinia, goes by an entirely different name. She is drawn to Wailing Rock for the same reasons others of her kind are, the rumors of the supernatural history, finding more vampires, and possibly a human companion to aid her.
