Ventrue lineage.
Marie Beaumont was a noblewoman connected to the House of Bourbon by lineage, and had the unfortunate luck to be present during the storming of Versailles in the French Revolution. Unfortunate might be too harsh of a word, according to her sire.
An elder who had been masquerading as a nobleman in the court of the Sun King had determined her as his next childer, using the rebellion as the perfect cover for his actions. No one would suspect the woman was any place other than dead or captured, and soon to be without her head if she remained there.
The woman could not be seen in Paris after that time of course, and once she had completed her change, her sire whisked them both away to the New World.
Breaking away from his controlling ways took her some time and many machinations of her own. But when she did, she was determined to never be someone's pawn again. She was born to play the game herself.
