Background:
"The egg donor" as Vesper calls her biological mother was a bougee, big time lingerie model in Hollywood. Her Dad was an author who scored in more ways than one when he was hired to ghost write the model's biography; the two should have stuck to a one night stand. But they didn't, and eventually Vesper was born. But by the time the little girl was two, egg donor took off, telling anyone who would listen that the child was a freak and the father wasn't much different. Dad took the toddler and headed back to Marble Falls, TX, raising the child with all the love and devotion he could. He managed to find love again, and Vesper's step mother and step sister became integral parts of her world. Even to this day, her sister Siobhan and her are incredibly close and have no secrets. Her nickname 'Lilac' is one given to her by Siobhan and is cherished dearly by Vesper.
But all things change, and after some gentle coaching, Vesper (and eventually Siobhan) has chosen the small town of Wailing Rock as a stepping stone to call home and settle into an adult way of life with mom and dad's blessing. (And a little financial assistance, of course.)
