Oberon Covenant was formed by Celesten, a male witch, and the sole survivor of a devastating witch massacre carried out by a group of mortal hunters primarily made up of human assassins. Celesten managed to preserve the felled coven's grimoire and make an escape, however, he was later caught by the hunters. Fortunately the grimoire was already well hidden. In spite of suffering relentless torture to reveal its location Celesten never conceded. But he did formulate a clever plan of escape. He feigned surrender by offering to bring them to its location if they vowed to bury him with its ashes, knowing they would set fire to it, and kill him when it was through. Communicating strictly by written word, Celesten had to convince the hunters to allow him to speak in order to lift the spell which concealed the grimoire. Not only did the spell reveal the grimoire but it unleashed a monstrous phantasm with it, one in the form of a hideous creature that would allow Celesten to once again escape with the grimoire, leaving the hunters to fight off the ghoul he'd unleashed.
Celesten is still hunted by the same organization and a new covenant is being formed in memory of the fallen. Their invaluable knowledge will continue to benefit witches via the grimoire which contains generations of spells. The coven will also act as future protection against opposing forces. Joining the coven is dangerous considering its history...be mindful of your surroundings, never let your guard down, and be prepared to defend yourself.

Oberon is an obscure coven for talented witches seeking companionship with others of their kind. Members will have access to the vast knowledge of past witches through the grimoire filled with decades of spells essential to every witch. All they need do is call upon Celesten; High Priest of the Oberon Covenant, and he may or may not present it for them. The grimoire is only accessible through Celesten himself, he keeps it close by at all times though it is usually concealed via magic. Celesten doesn't necessarily consider himself a High Priest, more or less 'Guardian of the Grimoire' though he does possess knowledge and power unexpected by a witch his age. Prodigy perhaps? Coven meetings will be infrequent and usually take place during full moons for the purpose of a group ritual but all associated witches may gather at their leisure any time. No more than 13 members will be recruited, and any witch may apply though not all may be accepted. Apply with any title you wish, be it Guardian, Healer, Alchemist, etc.
How does one learn about Oberon? Many witches have probably heard of the massacre that caused witches to scatter and lose contact with their covens for fear of being found by the hunters. Recently rumors began to circulate that covens were being mended and meeting up again shrouded in even more secrecy. Celesten sends riddles to witches he's interested in recruiting. If they solve it they will be led to him and that will act as an invitation or interview to see if there is mutual benefit in joining forces. This can all be discussed OOCly, of course, I don't expect people to OOCly be solving riddles. It's all strictly IC shenanigans. Message me with ideas! Alternatively people can create their own unique ways to learn about Oberon and seek to join it by tracking down Celesten, which is difficult considering he's in hiding but it's still possible for a clever witch!
